Solar Panels
One of the biggest forms of renewable energy is solar power harnessed
through solar panels or photovoltaic panels. When photons from the sun
strike a solar panel they produce a charge that can be used to power
anything from lights in a home to an electric car. Every single day
more solar panels are installed which lowers our carbon footprint on
the earth providing sustainability.
Unlike coal and oil engines, solar panels never have to be manually
refilled. They are constantly refilled every time the sun is shining
on them. The only cost is the price of the panels which can be expensive
until you realize that they last for twenty years maintenance free.
Imagine if you only had to fill up your car once every twenty years.
Solar panels are improving in efficiency in leaps and bounds. Just
like computers that are obsolete almost as soon as they are purchased,
photovoltaic panels are improving in their efficiency every day as costs
are simultaneously going down. Ten years ago a terabyte of information
was considered an impossible amount for a personal computer. Now they
have terabyte hard drives the size of an old floppy disk drive and smaller.
